Sponsor Terms

These terms apply in addition to the site's Terms of Use. You accept them when you sponsor a square. If you are sponsoring on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for it.
1. What you are buying
Sponsorship buys public credit on one map square: your name, a logo, a short message and a link, displayed for twelve months from the date your payment clears. That is the whole of it.
It does not buy access, exclusivity, ownership of a square, or any say in how the site works. Every mapped town is free for anyone to view whether it is sponsored or not. We map squares on our own schedule regardless of who has paid. Sponsorship never affects how a hill is measured, scored, ranked or described, and we will not change a measurement because a sponsor would prefer a different number.
We do not promise any level of traffic, views, clicks or business. This is a small site. Nobody can guarantee you an audience, and we do not.
2. What we do not allow
Your name, logo, message and link must not contain or link to:
- Slurs, hate speech, or material demeaning people by race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, disability or national origin.
- Harassment, threats, or the targeting of a named private individual.
- Sexual or adult content, or links to adult sites.
- Gore, violence, or weapons presented threateningly.
- Extremist insignia, or symbols associated with violent movements.
- Sales of drugs, tobacco, vaping products, firearms or ammunition.
- Gambling, betting, loot boxes, or cryptocurrency and token promotion.
- Scams, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, phishing, malware, or links to executable downloads.
- Political campaigning, election material, or religious proselytising.
- Impersonation of another business, or use of a trade mark, brand or logo you do not have the right to use.
- Anything encouraging riders to skate unsafely, to skate closed roads or private property without permission, or to break the law.
- Claims about our data, our rankings, or a relationship with us that are not true. You may say that you sponsor a map. You may not say that we endorse, certify or recommend you.
Link destinations count. A clean logo pointing at a site that breaks these rules breaks these rules.
3. Rights in what you upload
You keep ownership of your logo and your words. By submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, resize and display them on the site and in reasonable promotion of the site, for the term of the sponsorship and for a short period afterwards while caches and archives clear.
You confirm that you own that material or have permission to use it, and that displaying it will not infringe anyone else's rights. If someone brings a claim against us because of something you supplied, you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it.
4. Review, removal and refunds
Submissions are screened automatically and may appear on the site before a person has reviewed them. Automatic screening is not approval, and it is not a promise that anything will stay up. A human reviews afterwards.
We may refuse, remove or require changes to any name, logo, message or link at any time, including for reasons not listed above. If we remove a sponsorship because it breaks section 2, no refund is due. If we remove it for any other reason, or if we stop running the site, we refund the unused part of the twelve months, worked out to the nearest whole month.
If a square turns out to have nothing worth publishing, we refund you in full and tell you why.
5. Waiver and limitation of liability
The maps describe roads. They do not make them safe. Everything here is generated from public elevation and road data and may be wrong, out of date, or missing hazards including traffic, junctions, surface damage, gravel, gates, closures and pedestrians. Speeds shown are physics estimates, not measurements, and not targets.
As a sponsor you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are not responsible for, and have no control over, the accuracy of any map, and appearing beside a map is not an endorsement of it by you.
- We are not liable to you for loss of business, profit, goodwill, reputation, data or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your sponsorship.
- You waive any claim against us arising from the site being unavailable, slow, changed, redesigned or discontinued, or from your logo appearing alongside content you would not have chosen.
- You will not bring a claim against us in connection with any injury, death, damage or loss suffered by any rider using this site, and you accept that we make no representation to you about rider safety.
Our total liability to you, on any basis, is limited to the amount you paid for the sponsorship. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
6. Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Because the account is shared with our other site, your statement will read SHOBEN.IO followed by BOMBHILLS. Sponsorship is a one-off payment. It is not a subscription, nothing recurs, and nothing renews automatically.
7. Data
We keep the email address you give so we can send your progress link and contact you about the sponsorship. It is not published and not sold. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes and law
We may change these terms for future sponsorships. The version you accepted governs your sponsorship for its term, and that version number is recorded with your payment.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, and any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.
