Strictly necessary cookies are the category that keeps a site working and secure. Under most privacy laws, including the ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR, they do not require consent. We do not currently set any cookie outside that category, which is why you are not being shown a consent banner.
What we do not set
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking cookies.
- No third-party analytics cookies.
- No social media pixels.
Local storage
The map remembers your position in the page address, not in storage. If you use "Nearest to me", your coordinates stay in the page's memory for that visit and are discarded when you close the tab.
If we add advertising later
This site is free to use and costs money to run. Advertising is the most likely way we would cover that. To be plain about the intent: we may one day place ads here, and ad providers typically set their own cookies.
If and when that happens, we will do all of the following before any advertising code goes live:
- Update this page to name the provider and list the cookies it sets.
- Update the Privacy Policy to describe what the provider receives.
- Add a consent banner with a genuine choice, and honour a refusal, where the law requires consent.
Until you see that here, no advertising cookie is being set.
